Patients with Medicare or Medicare Advantage
Advance Care Planning is a covered service for Medicare patients. The patient will not have any charge if ACP is discussed within the Medicare Annual Wellness Visit. The usual part B deductible and coinsurance apply in scenarios outside of the Medicare Annual Wellness Visit.
Patients with Commercial Insurance or Medicaid
To understand the patient's financial responsibility for advance care planning outside of a Medicare plan, individuals and organizations should consult with each payer and health plan as needed.
